Forthcoming FRLS events

Friday 23rd February 2018, 7.30p.m. in the School Hall -  The (we miss Christmas) Family Quiz

We again welcome Mr George (for those new to the school, Mr George was a Science teacher at the Latin who left for pastures new but he can’t part with the FRLS and its quizzes.   On the other hand we won’t let him leave us!) as our fantastic quizmaster  and it is his idea for  this revised Christmas version.   Dig out your Christmas Jumpers (for those who possess them), bring some cracker jokes (if you have one) and come and join this crazy night.   No clever brains needed just a desire for a good time.  There will be a prize for the best Christmas Jumper amongst other spot prizes.  There will be food and a bar from which to purchase alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, sweets, crisps, homemade cakes, tea and coffee. For a number of years now the quiz has been a fun packed night for all ages to enjoy with singing and the odd dance even!  We hope that you can join the next one and have a great night ... it isn't about how much you know, it is about having a good time!

Parents, students, staff and their friends (also friends non associated with the school can be part of a team) are welcome.  You can arrange your own team of up to 10 people or if you wish to join up with another team, we can arrange it for you.  Ticket price - £7.50 for an adult and £6.00 for under 18s.

All the information about the Quiz and a ticket booking form is attached.

Saturday 10th March 2018, 7.30p.m. in the School Hall - 80s Disco

After huge demand we are again holding the 80s Disco for the 3rd year running.  If you haven’t attended, you don’t know what you are missing.  Our in House DJ with his larger than BBC archives collection of 80s hits has something for everyone.  You can choose from the playlist “your song” and he will play it for you.  The evening is a real hair down time! 80s dress not compulsory but most attendees go back to that era!

Parents, staff, pupils over 18 and their friends (also friends non associated with the school) are welcome.  Ticket price £17.50 per person.  Buffet style supper, desserts, tea and coffee will be served. Bar serving both alcoholic and soft drinks will run throughout the night.

All the information about the Disco and a ticket booking form is attached.

Sunday 22nd April 2018 - Run the Claydons Race

For the first time the race is under the wing of the FRLS.   It is in it's third year and getting bigger and bigger.   Don’t be afraid to come and run.  Parking available in a nearby field. Refreshments available for purchase.  Medals for all finishers.

It will take place on Sunday 22nd April in East Claydon and around the Claydon Estate, starting at 9.30a.m.  There are three races: -

·         A 7 mile multi-terrain run for age 16+

·         A 2 mile footpath run for age 12-15s (new for 2018)

·         A 1 mile footpath run for the under 12s

The 2017 race saw over 180 entries race the scenic route around the Claydon Estate trails and villages. With an increased entry limit of 300 places for 2018 we are looking forward to a great run.

Dancing the night away to a live band.   Parents, staff, students over 18 and their friends (also friends non associated with the school) are welcome.
